When did Star Country 104.5 return to the air?

Star Country 104.5 officially launched under new local ownership by Megan Stanley and Lyle Kenitzer on August 1, 2025. After the previous owners closed the station in December 2024, we saw an opportunity to revitalize country radio in southern Colorado.

Our launch brings fresh energy and modern capabilities while maintaining the nearly 50-year legacy that listeners have loved. We're committed to serving our community better than ever with expanded programming and new features.

What happened to KRLN 1400?

KRLN 1400, the news/talk sister station, ceased operations on January 1, 2025, when the previous owners closed both stations. Our new ownership focused on reviving Star Country 104.5 as our primary platform.

We're concentrating our resources on delivering the best country music experience possible at 104.5 FM. This focused approach allows us to better serve country music fans throughout southern Colorado.

What makes the new Star Country different?

We're building a complete multimedia platform beyond traditional radio, including upcoming streaming capabilities, mobile apps, and interactive website features. Our local ownership means decisions are made right here in southern Colorado.

We've also expanded our music format to include Red Dirt Texas country alongside classics and contemporary hits. Plus, our studio location allows for live performances and deeper community engagement.

What music do you play?

Our tagline says it all: "The Best of The Old, The New, and That Red Dirt Texas Country Too!" We play everything from George Strait classics to Miranda Lambert hits, plus authentic Red Dirt artists like Whiskey Myers.

This diverse format ensures every country music fan finds something they love. We're the only station in the region offering this complete country music experience.

Where is your studio located?

We broadcast from our studio in the Copper River Venue at 395 S. Angus Avenue in Pueblo West. The transmission tower remains outside Florence. This studio location in Pueblo West makes us accessible to listeners and advertisers throughout our coverage area.

Our venue location enables exciting possibilities like studio concerts and audience events. We're building more than a radio station – we're creating a country music destination.

Can I stream Star Country online?

We're actively developing our streaming capabilities and expect to launch online listening soon. Our digital transformation includes plans for website streaming, mobile apps, and Roku integration.

Once launched, you'll be able to enjoy Star Country anywhere with internet access. We're building the technology infrastructure to serve country music fans worldwide while maintaining our local focus.

What areas receive your signal?
